1,500 years of service recognised at Resthaven Staff Appreciation Awards

Congratulations to all long-serving Resthaven staff!

On 5 July, 2019, more than 100 Resthaven staff were honoured for their long service milestones at the annual Resthaven Staff Appreciation Awards.

The Resthaven Staff Appreciation Awards, held every year since 1993, acknowledge staff who have completed at least ten years’ service, with employment milestones recognised in increments of five, from 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, and 40 years.

This year, a record-breaking 119 Resthaven employees were eligible for awards, adding up to more than 1,500 years of combined service. Now that’s what we call an experienced workforce!

All were invited to attend a special luncheon in their honour, along with Board Members, their managers, and executive.

Topping the 2019 awardee list were three 30 year staff: Martin Giles (Gardener), Robyn Farr (Personal Care Worker) and Trish Reynolds (Housekeeping Services Assistant).

Board President, Mark Porter, and CEO, Richard Hearn presented award recipients with an appreciation gift and a certificate recognising their service.

Staff who have been with Resthaven for 30 years or more (the ‘30+ Club’) are invited to the awards each year. The longest serving Resthaven staff member to attend this year was Mira Trett of Resthaven Marion, who has been with Resthaven for an incredible 43 years.

‘The Resthaven Staff Appreciation Awards offer an opportunity to thank our long serving, dedicated staff for their contribution to Resthaven,’ Richard says.

‘Every year, I am reminded of how much the organisation benefits from loyal staff.’

‘Congratulations to all long-serving Resthaven staff!’
