Social Support and Advocacy

Most of our in-home Community Services include social support and advocacy as components of service provision. Resthaven also has specific services that focus on social support and advocacy.

Please click on the headings below for information about our Social Support and
Advocacy programs.

Assistance with Care and Housing for the Aged (ACHA)

The ACHA program supports people who are aged over 60, on a low income and are homeless or living in insecure accommodation such as rental, caravan, hotel or boarding house settings. A coordinator works alongside the person to find better, affordable, secure, ongoing accommodation and to access aged care support services. Resthaven’s Assistance with Care and Housing for the Aged program supports people living in eastern metropolitan Adelaide, and in the Tea Tree Gully LGA.

Living Alone with Memory Loss

The Living Alone with Memory Loss program (funded by Home and Community Care) provides support and advocacy to people aged 60 and over who are living alone, with or without a carer, and who have memory loss impacting on their lifestyle. A Coordinator develops individually tailored packages of support that help people to stay living independently at home. Resthaven’s Living Alone with Memory Loss program supports people living in southern and eastern metropolitan Adelaide.
