Friday Club Fun with Eddie the Labradoodle

On Friday 26 June, Resthaven Marion Community Services, at 43 Finniss Street, Marion, celebrated the return of their ‘Friday Club’ with a visit from special guest, Eddie the Labradoodle, and his human, Nick.

Social Groups Coordinator, Susan-Jane Billing, says, ‘Eddie was delighted to show our Friday Club guests how beautifully trained and well-mannered he is.’

‘He performed many clever tricks, such as walking on tiptoes, shaking hands, crawling, bowing, giving high fives and high tens, and rolling over.’

    ‘Clients were very impressed!’

‘Dogs teach us to recognise the joy in the little things, and remind us to be ourselves, to play, and to laugh.’

‘It was a pleasure to host Eddie and Nick, and we thank them for their visit.’

Resthaven Marion Community Services supports older people to live independently in their own homes through a range of in-home services and centre-based wellness programs. These programs were adapted or postponed during the COVID-19 restrictions.

With South Australia now returning to a ‘new normal,’ programs are slowly resuming where appropriate, with strict social distancing and infection control measures in place.

Resthaven works together with older people and their carers throughout metropolitan Adelaide, the Adelaide Hills, Murraylands, Fleurieu, Barossa, Riverland and Limestone Coast of South Australia.
