A month of milestones for Resthaven Mount Gambier

July has proven a significant month for all at Resthaven Mount Gambier, celebrating both a milestone anniversary with Christmas in July and a staff appreciation event.

On 4 July, Resthaven Mount Gambier celebrated its tenth anniversary of being open to the community, providing high quality, residential care to those living in the south east.

Resthaven Mount Gambier Manager, Belle Kerr, says, ‘Ten years is a significant milestone, so site staff and residents took this opportunity to celebrate the past decade, recognising the impact we have had within the community in this part of South Australia’.

‘Looking back, we truly have accomplished so much from when we started, and I am proud of everyone here who has committed over this time to make our site what it is today.’

A Christmas in July celebration on 7 July ensured residents had the opportunity to celebrate the milestone at Resthaven Mount Gambier. Later that day, a very special Staff Appreciation Awards dinner recognised those staff who have been at the site for the full ten years.

‘This was a special event with Board President, Mark Porter and Chief Executive Officer Darren Birbeck presenting awards to the staff who have been with us since the birth of Resthaven Mount Gambier – it was very special!’

‘Congratulations to all staff who celebrated their ten years of service with Resthaven Mount Gambier. Here’s to another decade!’

The event also recognised staff working in the community with Resthaven Limestone Coast Community Services.

Established in 1935, Resthaven is a South Australian not-for-profit aged care community service associated with the Uniting Church in Australia.

Every day, Resthaven shares the lives and wisdom of older people and their carers, opening doors to the full range of aged care service options available.

Services are provided throughout metropolitan Adelaide, the Adelaide Hills, Murraylands, Riverland, Fleurieu Peninsula, lower Barossa region and the Limestone Coast of South Australia.
