Resthaven celebrates ACCPA Excellence Award finalists
Resthaven is proud to announce that we are finalists in two categories in the inaugural 2024 ACCPA (Aged and Community Care Providers Association) Excellence Awards.
The awards are the culmination of the ACCPA ‘You are ACE!’ Campaign. You are ACE! is an industry recognition program that celebrates excellence, as it happens, across residential aged care, home and community care, retirement living and seniors housing.
Resthaven’s finalists are:
- Arna Dinham Resthaven Registered Nurse, Marion Community Services.
Arna was nominated in the ‘Individual – Consumer Focus and Care’ category for her dedication to Community Service nursing. Arna coordinates a team providing home care services to 80 older people in the Greater Adelaide area, helping clients stay at home, and independent, for longer.
‘I’ve always been interested in aged care and making sure people receive dignity and respect in their treatments, ensuring their care is delivered in a holistic way,” Arna says.
‘Arna is so caring and goes out of her way to help her clients,’ her manager, Ilse Kruger says.
- Resthaven Paradise Intergenerational Playgroup.
Resthaven Paradise’s Lifestyle team was nominated for a team award in the ‘Making a difference’ category. The team works with the local council to host a weekly playgroup catchup for residents and the youngest members of the community. Residents relish the opportunity to spend with the ‘littlies’ and the feeling is mutual among the parents who attend with their children.
‘We are incredibly proud of the achievements of Arna and the Lifestyle team at Resthaven Paradise,’ Darren Birbeck, Resthaven CEO says. ‘The work they, and all of our staff, do to make a difference to the lives of older people is commendable.’
The 15 winners of the ACCPA Excellence Awards in each category will be announced on Aged Care Employee Day, Wednesday 7 August 2024. Aged Care Employee Day is a day to recognise the caring and professional work of our aged care workforce.
