    Aged Care Work a Privilege

Career move to aged care is a ‘privilege’ says Natasha

After 12 years in the Human Resources industry, Natasha Dickinson, 44, was ‘looking for a change.’ She has certainly found it in her new role as Assistant Manager at Resthaven Western Community Services, at 96 Woodville Road, Woodville.

Now a few months in, Natasha explains: ‘I wanted to go into something that I could get involved in for the next ten years, that could be a second career; and aged care is such a growth industry.’

‘I’d done a bit of research, and Resthaven seemed like a really genuine company, which wanted to do what’s best for the community – and I would say that Resthaven has definitely met my expectations.’

‘I like variety, and this role’s definitely given me that,’ she says. ‘No two days are the same.’

‘However, I wasn’t just thrown into it and left to myself – I had a buddy system for the first two weeks, and my corporate induction was really well done.’

‘We heard from all the different Resthaven Department heads, and the CEO even took the time to welcome us to Resthaven. Other companies don’t do anything like that.’

‘Resthaven is great, the team here at Resthaven Western Community Services are all working towards a common goal, and have the clients’ interests at heart.’

‘There’s always someone there who’s a support or who you can rely on, so you’re never left alone.’

‘There’s no one I’ve come across who doesn’t seem willing to help you.’

‘It’s a caring, nurturing, organisation that’s always trying to do the best for the client.’

‘I find it a privilege that I was able to move into this industry, and I want to spend the rest of my career here.’

It’s a pleasure to have you on board, Natasha! Welcome to Resthaven.
