Handmade Crosses Brighten Anzac Day Service

Residents, staff and volunteers at Resthaven Aberfoyle Park have been busy sanding and painting beautiful crosses to be used during the site’s very first ANZAC Day service.

Resthaven Aberfoyle Park residents participate in a range of meaningful lifestyle activities, and this is no exception’, says Lifestyle Coordinator, Michelle Hobbs.

‘Our ANZAC Day service will be held in our multipurpose Hall, officiated by Coordinating Chaplain, Rev Dr Bruce Grindlay, who is himself, an ex-serviceman.’

‘ANZAC Day is always very meaningful for residents. These crosses, handmade with love by the art and craft group, will give the service extra meaning.’

Resthaven Aberfoyle Park opened in July last year, and features modern appointments, all single room accommodation with ensuites, spacious entertainment areas and courtyards, and a bright and light café. It is nearing capacity and has proven popular with southern Adelaide Hills residents.

Resthaven Aberfoyle Park is just one of Resthaven’s twelve residential aged care homes, which are also located at Bellevue Heights, Craigmore, Leabrook, Malvern, Marion, Mitcham, Murray Bridge, Mount Gambier, Paradise, Port Elliot and Westbourne Park.
