A Literary Visit from Author, Maya Linnell
On Monday 16 September, Resthaven Mount Gambier was delighted to host a guest visit from Australian author, Maya Linnell, at the home at 24 Elizabeth Street, Mount Gambier.
Maya is a rural journalist and lifestyle blogger who has turned her hand to fiction writing, with her debut romance novel, Wildflower Ridge.
Lifestyle Coordinator, Trudyanne Bedson, says, ‘Maya gave a fascinating speech to residents in the hall, where she told us all about how she became an author, and her influences and inspirations.’
‘She then spoke about Wildflower Ridge, and read us a passage from it.’
‘Around thirty residents, visitors and staff attended the event, including several people from St Mary’s nursing home, located close by to Resthaven Mount Gambier.’
‘After the event, we all enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea together, made by our kitchen team. It was wonderful to spend time socialising with the St Mary’s residents.’
‘Thank you to Maya for visiting us, and for providing several copies of her new book. We can’t wait to read it!’
