Tickled pink with a ‘dinky di’ barbecue at Resthaven Malvern

Resthaven Malvern resident, Mona May, was tickled pink by the annual Australia Day BBQ on 26 January.

Residents and staff enjoyed a variety of cooked meats and cheese platters throughout the day, with Residents like Mrs May beaming from the quality of the spread.

‘I felt like I could have been eating at the Ritz Hotel in London with the white table cloths, colourful table spread and decorations hanging from the ceiling,’ says Mrs May.

‘We had a hot barbecue to feed us all, and we especially enjoyed the slow-cooked lamb – delicious!’

‘The barbecue started early in the morning, so we all had a chance to eat and enjoy the day without feeling too rushed.’

Residents were heard discussing their excitement for the next barbecue, saying things like ‘we look forward to this event every year’, and ‘it’s the time of year where we can relax and enjoy one another’s company without the fuss.’

‘It could not have been better. I would like to thank management and staff for making it so enjoyable.’

‘Thanks to Jimmy, in particular, for making sure the barbecue was up to scratch.’

‘I’m looking forward to the next one!’
