Career opportunities for job seekers
‘Supporting older people to live as independently as possible is one of the most rewarding career choices you can make,’ says Richard Hearn, Resthaven’s former Chief Executive Officer.
‘With growing demand, aged care offers multiple career pathways that can lead to a rewarding, long term career.’
‘We are hosting a career expo at the Lakes Resort 17 Lake Terrace West, Mount Gambier on Friday, 14 June, 2019. Two sessions, at 2 pm and 5 pm, will allow for questions and information about jobs that are currently available.’
‘Resthaven has a number of opportunities in the local area, so this expo is an ideal opportunity for people to come along and find out what’s available. There are full-time, part-time and casual positions available.’
Job seekers will be able to speak with Resthaven staff about the opportunities available at Resthaven Mount Gambier. Positions range from registered and enrolled nurses and personal care assistants.
‘Working in aged care can be a great career choice. Whilst some positions have minimum qualifications, we are also offering traineeships, to support people to gain a Certificate III in individual support.’
‘We also have a Graduate Nurse Program for recently qualified Registered Nurses. The expo is an ideal opportunity for student nurses to ask about this as well as casual employment whilst studying.’
‘We offer on the job training as well as a comprehensive induction program for all new staff.’
The expo has two sessions to make it easier for people to attend.
Established in 1935, Resthaven supports older people and their carers who live in the South East, in both residential aged care and at home care. Resthaven Limestone Coast Community Services recently opened a new office in Mount Gambier at 15B James Street.
