Celebrating Seniors’ Month on the Limestone Coast

On Tuesday 4 October, Seniors in the Wattle Range Council put their best ‘fashion’ foot forward at a ‘Fashions through the Ages’ event.

Ben Ardenburg & Unyetta Raddon at Fashions through the AgesResthaven sponsored the opening of Seniors Month, which included a fabulous high tea, and a display of seniors’ favourite items of vintage clothing and accessories.

‘Resthaven clients really enjoyed the event,’ says Unyetta Raddon, Assistant Manager, Resthaven Limestone Coast Community Services, who joined in on the day.

‘Many came dressed in their “Sunday best”. It was a great opportunity for socialising, and some light-hearted fun.’

‘It also offered their carers some respite and a break from their caring role. This is important, as it assists them to stay strong themselves.’

‘We work together with older people to support their lifestyle and wellness goals, which includes socialising and outings just like this one.’

‘Resthaven provides a wide range of high quality aged care services in people’s homes right across the Limestone Coast, including overnight respite accommodation, in-home care and support, assistance with care and housing and support for veterans.’

‘Our respite cottage, located in Naracoorte, provides high quality day respite and overnight accommodation, meals and socialisation, from just a few hours a day, to up to a week. And we transport clients there and back home if needed.’

Nanette and Kevin Jarrad at Fashions through the Ages‘We also have a friendly team of Home Support Workers who visit clients in their own homes to provide support that assists them to live independently in the community.’
