    Celebrating volunteers

Volunteers have been at the heart of Resthaven from the beginning, in 1935. Resthaven relies on volunteers who offer an extra level of support for residents and clients.

National Volunteer Week is Australia’s largest annual celebration of volunteering and will be held on 15 – 21 May 2023. This year throughout the month of May, we celebrate volunteers across Resthaven with a series of afternoon tea ‘soirees’ — French style — to say Merci Beaucoup (thank you)!

Throughout the year, we have shared stories about Resthaven volunteers. Enjoy a gallery snapshot of just a few below.

‘It was a beautiful moment and reminded me why I love volunteering. The connections we make are one of a kind.’ — Marian Allam, Resthaven Murray Bridge (pictured below left)

‘It has been a joy to grow strong connections with residents, and they have inspired me to “let go” with my creativity.’ — Julie Sieben, Resthaven Craigmore (pictured below middle)

I feel very blessed to continue to be a part of this beautiful community—I’m exactly where I want to be.’ — Denise Lockwood, Resthaven Malvern (pictured below right)

We celebrate volunteers, and welcome more to join Resthaven.
