    With a Health and Wellness Centre onsite, Resthaven Paradise & Eastern Community Services main office at Paradise, offers a range of in-home support and respite, health and wellness activities and allied health services.

    Resthaven offers a wide range of flexible services so that you are able to live independently at home.

    Trained Resthaven home support workers deliver services in your home, or at the Resthaven Paradise and Eastern Community Services site in Paradise. There is also a secondary office located in Sefton Park.

    You may choose to receive support with household tasks, home maintenance, shopping, social activities, keeping healthy, personal care, and nursing care.

    Contact us on 1300 13 66 33 and we’ll facilitate your referral through My Aged Care, or contact My Aged Care directly on 1800 200 422.

    Social, Wellness and Fitness social groups

    Social

    • Gentleman’s Club: Conversations over lunch with their male peers, in an external location.
    • Social Ladies: Meet women in the same stage of life for a nice conversation over afternoon tea at an external  location.
    • Company & Cuppa: Conversation over afternoon tea at an external location.
    • Star Ladies: Conversation over afternoon tea at an external location.
    • Bus Trips:  Bus trips are either a shorter trip for lunch – conversation always included – or a longer “day” trip with a destination and lunch.
    • Board Games: Board games in a relaxed atmosphere within a small group setting.
    • Bingo: What’s better than bingo and morning tea with friends? Winning! Prizes for the winners. Morning tea provided. 

    Wellness

    • Hand Therapy: Hands-on weekly therapy group. OT led. Focussing on pain, stiffness, weakness, and functional difficulties in arms and hands. It’s not just therapy, it’s a social, supportive, and empowering way to get those hands back in action!
    • Move Well: Designed to increase participants’ body awareness and to expand on their movement repertoire. Physio led.
    • Going Steady: Focused on falls prevention through physical activity and education.
    • Movement to Music: Focus on balance retraining and strengthening, incorporating exercises and games to improve co-ordination, reflex, endurance, confidence and social interaction. Seated and standing movements involving whole body exercises. Physio led.
    • Parkinson’s Group: Regular exercise to maintain or improve function in a social setting with others living with a shared diagnosis. An opportunity to provide education and for clients to share lived experiences. OT led.

    Fitness and Allied Health

    • Parkinson’s Group: Regular exercise to maintain or improve function in a social setting with others living with a shared diagnosis. An opportunity to provide education and for clients to share lived experiences. OT led.
    • Hydrotherapy: A water-based exercise group, physio led, in a low weight bearing environment aimed at improving an individual’s ADLs, function and activity level.
    • Keep Fit: Using chi balls as a method of providing regular exercise to maintain or improve function. Includes both seated and standing exercises as well as the use of parallel bars. Physio led.
    • Keep Active: Low to moderate intensity Physio led exercises with a reablement focus, designed to be ongoing. This group also has a focus on social engagement – set up as 60 minutes exercise and 30 minutes social support over afternoon tea.
