• Community Services – COVID-19 Update

Resthaven Community Services continue to support people living at home.

The COVID-19 pandemic has greatly changed the way we live. To help keep us safe, it is likely that our lives will be different for a while. For everyone’s safety, Resthaven complies with the South Australian Police Commissioner’s Directions under the Emergency Management Act 2004 to ensure that the services we deliver are safe.

The key messages for everyone are:

    • Wash hands frequently with soap and water, before and after eating, and after going to the toilet.
    • Cover your cough and sneeze, dispose of tissues, and wash your hands.
    • If unwell, avoid contact with others (stay more than 1.5 metres from people).
    • Exercise personal responsibility for social distancing measures – keep a minimum 1.5 metres.

Resthaven has strict protocols in place to comply with these key messages. In addition, Resthaven staff undertake enhanced infection control education and training. Staff also complete screening questions when attending to services prior to entering a client’s home, and maintain social distancing every visit.  Resthaven’s screening questions protocol aims to eliminate staff exposure to the COVID-19 infection, reducing risk.

We reinforce the government message that in-home community services are safe. Resthaven continues to monitor the government advice and remains committed to providing services with the minimal impact for clients as possible, adhering to all emergency management orders as they arise.

Resthaven has recommenced social groups, exercise and rehabilitation gym services at our Wellness Centres, with additional disinfection and environmental cleaning, temperature checking, increased hand hygiene and strict social distancing in place at all sessions to ensure safety.

Resthaven staff will contact clients to discuss their choices and preferences regarding the support they choose to receive.

Anyone wishing to access aged care and support at home is encouraged to call 1300 13 66 33 to enquire about options currently available.
