Companion service launched at Resthaven

Residents living at Resthaven residential homes are benefiting from a new ‘Companion Service,’ which supports residents to visit offsite locations in the company of appropriately skilled Resthaven staff member.
Tina Cooper, Resthaven Executive Manager Residential Services, explains, ‘For a reasonable fee, residents can attend outings including medical appointments, church, social visits, a trip to the shops, or anything else they would like to do.’
‘This service provides an extra level of personalised care, giving residents and their families peace of mind.’
Mrs Pam Oxley of Resthaven Bellevue Heights recently utilised the Companion Service to attend an appointment off site, and was ‘delighted’ with the service.
She was accompanied by Michelle, a fully trained Resthaven staff member, who provided assistance and support throughout the day.
‘It’s a wonderful service,’ said Mrs Oxley.
‘It takes a lot of worry and pressure off me and my family.’
Mrs Oxley’s daughter, Sandra, concurred, saying that she was ‘reassured’ that a staff member who knew her mother was able to attend the appointment with her.

This service is available for purchase by, or on behalf of, residents at all Resthaven residential locations.
