    COVID-19 ‘circuit breaker’

As of midnight tonight, the state government is introducing a six-day ‘circuit-breaker’ set of restrictions across South Australia in order to attempt to control the current cluster of COVID-19 from escalating further.

All South Australians are advised to follow the directive to stay at home over the next six days from midnight tonight.

Resthaven provides an essential service. We continue to support the critical work of providing care and support to our residents and clients and will follow the government’s guidelines, including restricting any non-essential movement, and wear masks as directed.

Resthaven has suspended all non-essential visits to residential aged care homes and residents will not be able to go out until further notice (unless it is for medical reasons or essential health, dental or mental health services provided by a hospital, GP, public health dentist or hospital radiology service).

Resthaven Community Services continue to support people living in the wider community. Staff continue to check on the well-being of clients and will implement relevant precautions prior to providing care and services.

Group activities and bus trips are cancelled for community clients, although in-home support and respite for carers will continue in some capacity.

We encourage family members, friends and carers of vulnerable older people to keep in touch and support them during this period, however possible. A timely phone call is always appreciated.

Our focus is on protecting the health and wellbeing of our residents and clients, along with employees and volunteers, and their families.

We have and will continue to provide updates as the situation evolves, and will continue to update the website with current information.
