Controversies with Weight Management Strategies in Older Adults
– Dr Natalie Luscombe-Marsh – B.Sc., PhD
Dr Luscombe-Marsh will examine the consequences of unintentional changes in body weight, when and how to identify risk of malnutrition, the issues with the current Australian Dietary guidelines for this population, and key strategies that should be implemented to better manage the weight and health of older adults.
Causes and Consequences of Weight Loss in the Ageing Person
– Donna Preston – RN, MNP, Grad. Dip CHPC
The factors contributing to under-nutrition are many and varied and involve aspects such as functional capacity, psychosocial and physical. Identifying the factors that have impacted on under-nutrition in older adults is paramount in facilitating successful and sustained change.
