    Extra services delight at Resthaven

Resthaven continuously looks for ways to improve the services and options available for residents and clients.

Recent improvements include offering a choice of additional services that can be purchased as a once off or regular ‘extra’.

‘We have successfully trialled and are now hosting High Teas as part of our “extra amenities” program,’ says Tina Cooper, Executive Manager Residential Services.

‘Residents, families and friends at Resthaven Leabrook, Port Elliot and Westbourne Park can purchase a delicious “High Tea” to be enjoyed in a private room at the home. High teas are booked at reception.’

‘These are served by a private host, who waits on the guests and keeps the coffee and tea flowing.’

‘We’ve found the High Teas are very popular as a birthday gift, or to celebrate a special occasion such as a special anniversary.’

‘A High Tea is a perfect way to spend quality time with family and friends.’

Coordinator of Housekeeping Services at Resthaven Leabrook, Trish Manolopoulos, is delighted with the popularity and success of the initiative, saying, ‘We love being able to cater for residents and families in this way, and it seems the feeling is mutual.’

‘One family even came and found me, to bring me back into the drawing room to personally thank us for all the work that went into the High Tea. This is the sort of feedback that just makes my day.’

    Other comments from families include:

    • ‘It was a wonderful (and practical) venue for our broader family to share the Christmas spirit with mum. The true test is that it will be a lovely, happy memory for us all, especially mum. Thanks to all Resthaven staff who contributed to making this just a lovely day.’
    • ‘The room was beautifully set up; cutlery, crockery and the eye catching high tea display as well as the freshly cut flowers.’
    • ‘Our family really enjoyed the High Tea for Mum’s birthday, and we thought everything was done extremely well. We thought the High Tea was an excellent service and one that we would choose to use again.’
    • ‘Staff service was discreet and efficient. We were made to feel very much at home.’
    • ‘Everyone really enjoyed Marjorie’s High Tea, and thought that it was a lovely idea. Resthaven should be congratulated for providing such an excellent service for residents.’

Tina says, ‘The next step in the “extra amenities” program is our companion service, which will soon be trialled at a selection of our sites.

‘For a fee, fully qualified Resthaven staff can be booked to accompany residents to social outings, the supermarket, doctor’s appointments – wherever they may need or want to go.’

‘If successful, we will roll out this program across all Resthaven residential sites.’

    ‘Watch this space!’

The services are specifically for Resthaven residents, family and friends. Details at reception.
