Letters from children bring delight at Mitcham

In early May, residents of Resthaven Mitcham, at 17 Hill Street, Kingswood, were delighted to receive a beautiful delivery of artwork from the year 1 children of nearby Mercedes College.

Lifestyle Coordinator, Sylvia Ortiz, says, ‘The children sent us their colourful creations, accompanied by a lovely message.’

‘This year, we have been building an intergenerational program with Mercedes College, which is located within walking distance of Resthaven Mitcham.’

‘The children have visited us on several occasions in the past.’

‘However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are currently unable to host the children onsite.’

‘The school thought residents might appreciate them keeping in touch via post instead.’

‘What a great idea!’

‘Thank you to children of Mercedes College, residents just loved your thoughtful gesture.’
