Measures for COVID-19 pandemic
Visiting Arrangements and Screening
Note: This information is superseded by subsequent notifications. Please visit this page for the latest information.
Older people are more susceptible to contracting and being seriously affected by COVID-19. As we all adapt to the current environment, Resthaven has restricted visitor access to our residential aged care services in line with the SA Police Commissioner’s Directions.
Each resident may have only one visit per day by one or two visitors together for a period of not exceeding 30 minutes. The visit is to be in the resident’s room or outdoors or in a specific area designated by the residential aged care facility, not in communal areas.
This highly precautionary approach in responding to the pandemic is based on the latest and best medical advice and involves screening of everyone prior to entry. We appreciate the cooperation and patience of our community, and continue to communicate with the key contact person for each resident. We ask this person in each family to keep other family members and friends informed. Please also communicate with each other to avoid disappointment when visiting – only one visit per day is permitted.
Visiting arrangements:
Visiting hours are 1pm – 3 pm, 7 days per week. The main entrance is the only entry point. Visitors may need to wait for some time to accommodate screening. Please be patient and considerate.
All visitors must undergo screening, adhere to 1.5 metre social distancing requirements at all times, and carry evidence of their 2020 seasonal influenza vaccination.
One pet on a lead is welcome to accompany visitors, with social distancing of 1.5m from all residents, staff and other visitors at all times.
Gifts for residents can be dropped off at the site, however please note the restrictions in the fact sheet.
Take away meals may be delivered by delivery companies (UBER and the like) and must be consumed by the resident immediately and not be stored.
These arrangements are subject to change so please check with staff prior to visiting. Thank you for your cooperation.
