Card Making and Baking, Moving and Shaking

The Millicent Social Group kept busy over the summer holidays, making beautiful cards to share with families and friends.

This is just one of the many activities that group participants enjoy, with others including baking days, knitting projects, and trips to the local museum or theatre.

The group, which is run by Resthaven Limestone Coast Community Services, meets regularly at the Resthaven offices at 1/6 Davenport Street, Millicent.

Manager, Liz Southall, says, ‘All our activities are popular, but the card making activity was a great lead-up to the festive season, giving the ladies an opportunity to create some lovely Christmas cards.’

‘The group also makes cards for other times of the year, such as Easter.’

‘A big thank you to Home Support Worker, Annette, a keen card-maker herself, who assisted the ladies to make and decorate their cards.’

‘A special thanks also to Coordinator, Stacey, and Annette, for providing scrap-booking materials, cardboard and paper.’

‘We received very positive feedback about the card-making activity, and can’t wait to do it again for special occasions in 2020.’

‘The Millicent Social Group supports older people living across the Limestone Coast to enjoy social interaction, various interesting activities, along with afternoon tea.’

‘If you are interested in joining in the fun, please contact Resthaven Limestone Coast Community Services Millicent office on 8733 3311.’

Resthaven’s residential and in-home care and support options are offered throughout metropolitan Adelaide, the Adelaide Hills, Murraylands, Riverland, Barossa, Fleurieu Peninsula and the Limestone Coast.
