Resthaven Mount Gambier Volunteer Garden Party

On 20 May, Resthaven Mount Gambier celebrated volunteers with a ‘garden party’ at the home at 24 Elizabeth Street, Mount Gambier.

Stacey Thompson, Manager Volunteer Services, says, ‘We enjoyed afternoon tea together amongst the garden party-themed decorations, with good food and good company.’

‘Residents helped to make the decorations, as well as set up and host this event for Resthaven Mount Gambier volunteers.’

‘Pictured is resident, Dianne Young, arranging the herb posies – a wonderful, tactile way of thanking volunteers for their “thyme,” “commit-mint,” and for being “sup-herb”!’

‘In the lead up, Dianne also showed volunteers how to make beautiful roses from serviettes.’

‘We were joined on the day by Mrs Jean Rees, who thanked volunteers on behalf of all residents, relayed from volunteer, Shirley, as she was not able to join us on the day.’

‘Volunteer celebrations are being held across all Resthaven locations throughout the month of May.’

‘The events are about taking time out to smell the roses, and really appreciate the difference that volunteers make in the lives of the people whom Resthaven supports.’
