New Lifestyle Coordinator at Resthaven Mount Gambier

    A new ‘Lifestyle’ for Pamela

New Resthaven Mount Gambier Lifestyle Coordinator, Pamela Bastow, describes her move from New South Wales to Mount Gambier as a ‘great adventure.’

Pamela (picture above with the Lifestyle team first from left), who moved to the Mount with her partner in November 2020, says, ‘My friends back in New South Wales are terribly jealous when I tell them about the treasures Mount Gambier offers.’

‘I have been told that Mount Gambier is South Australia’s best kept secret, and I think they might be right!’

Pamela and her partner have enjoyed many local sights, including the Umpherston sinkhole, the Engelbrecht Cave, Port MacDonell, the Railway Lands bike track, and the Coonawarra wineries.

Pam says, ‘I had never lived in South Australia before, and I am really enjoying the friendly, laid back and relaxed feeling that Mount Gambier offers.’

‘The weather, however, is another matter, and I have already prepared my partner for my forthcoming winter wardrobe spending spree!’

With 20 years aged care experience, Pamela is looking forward to leading the Resthaven Lifestyle team in providing an enriching and stimulating program for residents at the home at 24 Elizabeth Street, Mount Gambier.

‘I have always had a genuine love for aged care, and I find working in Lifestyle to be incredibly rewarding and fulfilling’ she says.

‘I enjoy the outcomes of the combined efforts of the Lifestyle teams, to see smiling faces, and to witness the enrichment of residents’ day to day lives. Who could ask for more?’

‘I regard working in aged care a privilege, and look forward to working together with both staff and residents who have welcomed me into their beautiful home here at Resthaven Mount Gambier.’
