Resthaven is the new provider for the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) in the Alexandrina Council area
Resthaven is delighted to be announced as the new provider for the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) in the Alexandrina Council area, from 1 July, 2021.
The Alexandrina Council will cease delivery of the program from 30 June 2021, as a result of structural changes resulting from the government aged care reforms. Resthaven was selected by the Department of Human Services to take on the program in Alexandrina’s Council’s stead.
The Commonwealth Home Support Program supports eligible older people with services such as minor home modifications, home maintenance and gardening, domestic assistance in the Strathalbyn area, transport and social support.
Alexandrina Council Mayor, Keith Parks, is pleased with the announcement, considering Resthaven’s positive local reputation and proud history.
Mayor Parks says, ‘Resthaven is well established in our local community, with offices currently located in Strathalbyn and Port Elliot, and has an extensive history of providing trusted services to support people to age well in the community.
‘Our team is committed to working closely with Resthaven to support people who access these services so as to ensure a smooth transition.’

Resthaven is one of a select few aged care providers to offer the full range of aged care support, with in-home care support services, a wellness centre, retirement living and residential aged care all available in the Fleurieu.
A not for profit, South Australian aged care community service associated with the Uniting Church, Resthaven’s residential and in-home care and support options are offered throughout metropolitan Adelaide, the Adelaide Hills, Murraylands, Riverland, Barossa, Fleurieu Peninsula and the Limestone Coast.
