New residents welcome

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the protection of vulnerable older people from this potentially deadly infection is foremost in people’s minds.

However, older people continue to need support, and Resthaven continues to provide our essential services in the community and in our twelve residential aged care homes.

Although site tours are currently suspended, anyone can view the site film for each residential home on the relevant page of the website to gauge the level of accommodation and amenities on offer.

We continue to work with individuals and their family or representatives to enable admission, noting that we do undertake screening prior to and on admission to ensure the safety of others. In these difficult times, we can arrange a prospective resident to view a room via technology, as there are restrictions we must adhere to due to the current pandemic situation.

Lifestyle programs have been adapted to be physically distanced but socially connected as much as possible.

Resthaven monitors advice at both federal and state government levels and actively implements changes as required. Social distancing guidelines are observed, and we have strong infection control practices in our residential aged care homes, as well as in our community services teams who visit clients living in their own homes.

In 2020, Resthaven is celebrating 85 years of working together with older people and their carers to provide outstanding care and support, living our values of trust, dignity and choice.
