Physiotherapy student’s ‘life-changing opportunity’ in aged care career

Resthaven is committed to the future workforce of aged care and continues to fund various scholarships across South Australian universities.

Francesca Fragnito, 2022 recipient of the Resthaven Undergraduate Physiotherapy Scholarship, shares her excitement for her future in aged care.

Francesca explains, ‘In my third year of study [Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Hons) at the University of South Australia], I am committed to finding a career where I can really make a difference in people’s lives.’

‘I hope to help people move better and feel better, particularly older people in their everyday activities, ultimately empowering them physically and mentally to feel like they can be involved and find a better quality of life.’

‘This scholarship has been an amazing, life-changing opportunity for me. It has allowed me to focus on my studies while lifting a bit of financial pressure off my shoulders.’

‘It will allow me to extend my education, to be able to sign-up for some external courses to support and extend my learning further, as well as help me pay for resources like textbooks and stationery, which has been so helpful.’

‘Physiotherapists make a huge difference to the health and well-being of older adults. Working within this field would be one of the most rewarding and meaningful, and these are important aspects I hope to find in my future career as I truly want to make a difference to people’s lives.’
