Resthaven client becomes captain on the River Murray steamboat PS Industry
Full steam ahead on the PS Industry
Resthaven Riverland Community Services client, Mr Eddie Herbst, can add ‘steamboat captain’ to his list of accomplishments!
‘In July, a group of 25 Resthaven Riverland Community Services clients and staff headed out on an inaugural day trip on the PS Industry paddle steamer,’ says Manager, Sandy Smith.
‘Amongst them was long-time client, Mr Eddie Herbst, who made his way up to the navigation centre, where the Captain gave him his hat and turned over the wheel to him!’
‘Eddie had a great time driving the steamer.’
‘Clients spent 1½ hours steaming up the beautiful Murray River.’
‘Whilst on board, we were delighted to be served a delicious Devonshire tea.’
‘The crew of the PS Industry were so accommodating and helpful to clients and staff alike.’
‘They went out of their way to make the day as special as it could be for clients, and went above and beyond assisting our staff with ensuring the comfort and safety of clients.’
‘The trip was a huge success.’
‘We are all looking forward to the next excursion in August.’
