Remembrance Day — Resthaven’s tribute to veterans

On Remembrance Day each year, Resthaven pays special tribute to veterans across all twelve residential sites, recognising their service, while remembering our fallen soldiers.

Leading up to 11 November, Resthaven Mitcham and Resthaven Leabrook have shared their efforts in creating impressive site displays. Each includes poppies made in Craft Group by staff and residents, and donated war memorabilia.

On Remembrance Day, Resthaven’s Coordinating Chaplains will lead a dedicated service at each site, with veterans encouraged to wear their service uniforms and medals.

Each service will consist of resident involvement in reading the Ode and placing the wreath—an element of trust, dignity and choice that is appreciated by the older people we support.
