Resthaven Embraces Diversity
Resthaven Paradise Lifestyle Coordinator, Thuy-Anh Pham, has a passion for aged care, and enjoys the diversity rich environment she works in every day.
Commencing in 2018, Thuy-Anh has developed Lifestyle programs that cater to what residents want out of their day-to-day activities.
‘I have always loved people and have got on particularly well with the older generations my whole life.’
‘I am passionate about what I do and the impact I make on residents’ quality of life in my role.’
While a typical day in Thuy-Anh’s position as Lifestyle Coordinator is quite varied, there is one responsibility that makes all the difference to her.
‘Engaging with and understanding residents is crucial in my role. My job is to listen, understand and improve their lives, which I am proud to have the privilege of assisting.’
‘While I am here to give them something, they give me a lot back in return, which doesn’t go unnoticed.’
Thuy-Anh takes comfort in listening to the words of wisdom from residents who have lived a long life before her.
‘Working in aged care is a beautiful thing – it helps you to better understand older people and learn from their wisdom.’
‘They have a lot of knowledge to pass on, and I find I am constantly learning more about myself and the world every day just by talking with them!’

Established in 1935, Resthaven is a South Australian not-for-profit aged care community service associated with the Uniting Church in Australia.
Every day, Resthaven shares the lives and wisdom of older people and their carers, opening doors to the full range of aged care service options available.
Services are provided throughout metropolitan Adelaide, the Adelaide Hills, Murraylands, Riverland, Fleurieu Peninsula, lower Barossa region and the Limestone Coast of South Australia.
