    Resthaven Malvern Redevelopment Celebration

On Thursday 19 April 2018, residents and their family and friends, volunteers, staff, and guests will gather at Resthaven Malvern to celebrate the completion of a major redevelopment.

The site now offers all single rooms with ensuites for residents, including premium singles and couples rooms, new indoor décor, and beautiful garden and courtyard areas.

Board President, Mark Porter, will cut the cake in a short ceremony followed by afternoon tea and tours of the new-look communal areas of the site, at 43 Marlborough Street, Malvern.

‘We thought it was appropriate to hold an event, as this is the first major redevelopment at Resthaven Malvern in 20 years’, says Resthaven CEO, Richard Hearn.

‘It is also a wonderful opportunity to showcase our interactive Pen Pal program, which featured at an aged care conference in Bangkok last September.’

‘Wendy Morey, Executive Manager Workforce Development and Governance, will give a photographic presentation about the Pen Pal program, followed with a screening of a short film, showcasing the wonderful way in which letter writing has connected Resthaven residents and older Thai people living in Bangkok.’

‘This is the first official screening in Australia, although its premiere was in Bangkok.’

Resthaven residential aged care homes are located at Bellevue Heights, Craigmore, Leabrook, Malvern, Marion, Mitcham, Murray Bridge, Mount Gambier, Paradise, Port Elliot and Westbourne Park. A new Resthaven at Aberfoyle Park is currently nearing completion and due to open in July.
