Resthaven Murray Bridge 60th Anniversary Celebration

‘I can’t think of a better way to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Resthaven Murray Bridge in 2018 than with the completion of the current major redevelopment project,’ says Manager Residential Services, Debbie Lindner.

‘The $16.5m redevelopment that has taken more than two years has completely changed the site. There is a new main entrance to the home, new single room accommodation with private ensuites, and a brand new hall, café area, lounges and courtyard gardens. We also have a new hairdressing salon, kitchen, laundry, and staff offices.’

‘There is a coffee lounge area for residents and visitors to enjoy, and the old reception area has become an extra dining space and lounge area. We recently enjoyed Melbourne Cup celebrations and a Show Day in these new areas.’

‘Car parking at the home has been much improved, which has been welcome news to all residents, families, volunteers and staff.’

‘I cannot thank our residents and families enough for their patience and continued support throughout this building project. I’m sure we will miss the activity around the home, but we do look forward to the peace and quiet!’

‘Today, we will celebrate Resthaven Murray Bridge’s 60th anniversary with a birthday cake cutting ceremony, followed by the annual Residents’ Christmas Luncheon’.

‘This is the first time this important event will be held in the new hall, and is an opportunity for all residents to enjoy a traditional Christmas meal together. They will be joined by Resthaven Board President, Mark Porter, and board member Suzanne Fuller.’

‘With the completion of the redevelopment, Resthaven Murray Bridge can accommodate an extra 18 older people, taking the total number of resident places at Resthaven Murray Bridge to 96.’

‘As the new places are filled, we will employ more staff to meet these demands.’

Monthly site tours are held on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 11am, for families and clients wishing to consider Resthaven for residential care. Please contact the site on 8532 1969 to make a booking.

‘It’s a “new era” at Resthaven Murray Bridge!’
