    Stage 3 of Resthaven Murray Bridge redevelopment approved

    Stage 3 of a $15 million redevelopment at Resthaven Murray Bridge has been approved by the Development Assessment Panel.

    ‘The Resthaven Murray Bridge redevelopment includes construction of 20 new rooms to replace the original Talbot, Jenkins and Christopher areas. This will also include a new reception and administration area, a dedicated hall, new café, hairdressing salon, shop, and library,’ says ,’ Resthaven Chief Executive Officer, Richard Hearn.

    ‘Stage 1 will commence in January 2017, with stage 2 following in the third quarter of the year. Commencement of stage 3 is expected in fourth quarter of 2017.

    The site, located at 53 Swanport Road, Murray Bridge, continues to undergo redevelopment to improve accommodation and amenity for residents.

    ‘Commencement of Stage 1 of the redevelopment will be officially marked with a ‘Turning of the first sod’ ceremony earmarked for 10.30 am on Friday 6 January 2017.’

    ‘This stage involves building an 18 place extension and stage involves the refurbishment of 20 rooms in Harrip and Homburg House.’

    Manager, Deb Lindner, is pleased that residents will soon have additional amenities.

    Resthaven Murray Bridge opened in 1958 as the third Resthaven aged care home. Today, it is the home of up to 78 older people, and just one of Resthaven’s eleven full accredited residential aged care homes located across metropolitan Adelaide, the Adelaide Hills, Murraylands, Fleurieu and Mount Gambier.
