• Resthaven named HESTA Awards Finalist

Trust Dignity ChoiceResthaven has been named a finalist in the 2017 HESTA Aged Care Awards.

‘We are delighted to announce that Resthaven is a finalist in the awards, for a combined effort across our service divisions to support a customer at Murray Bridge,’ says CEO, Richard Hearn.

‘Resthaven Murray Bridge Residential Services, Resthaven Murray Bridge, Hills & Fleurieu Community Services, and the Resthaven Clinical Services team, worked together to train a team in specialist skills to enable a client, Mrs Burgess, to remain living at home with her husband.’

‘Mrs Burgess chose to have short periods of respite at Resthaven Murray Bridge whilst Mr Burgess took a well-deserved rest from his caring role.’

‘The Resthaven teams worked together with Mr and Mrs Burgess to ensure smooth transitions between services at home and periods of respite.’

‘Resthaven consulted the specialist dialysis team from the Royal Adelaide Hospital, and 13 staff subsequently underwent specialist training.’

Resthaven is one of five finalists in ‘Team Innovation’ Award category.

The purpose of the HESTA awards is to recognise aged care professionals who make an exceptional contribution to improving the quality of life for older Australians. This project certainly did that.

The winner of each category will share in a $30,000 prize pool. Winners will be announced on 23 November, 2017.

    Good luck to all!
