    Resthaven Outlines Better Practice

‘Resthaven was proud to win an inaugural Better Practice National Innovation and Excellence in Aged Care Award in 2017.

As winners of this prestigious award, we have the opportunity to give a presentation at the 2018 Australian Aged Care Quality Agency’s (AACQA) Better Practice for the Future National Conference’, says Resthaven CEO, Richard Hearn.

‘I am pleased that Resthaven’s Service Development Manager, Lynn Openshaw, will give the presentation, as she has been integral in developing our continuous improvement and innovative programs.’

The national conference will be held in Sydney in August, and is themed ‘Living the life I choose—Safety, health and wellbeing’.

‘With a focus on consumer engagement, shaping the future of aged care delivery, and the new Aged Care Quality Standards and regulatory framework, the conference theme complements our own better practice,’ says Lynn.

‘It is an excellent opportunity to showcase our innovative programs on the national stage, to likeminded aged care professionals.’

‘Our research project, “Wellness and reablement in the home”, focused on challenging staff culture through our workforce development to improve consumer independence, choice and service delivery in people’s homes.’

‘We are also looking forward to learning about and unpacking the new quality standards that will be legislated to come into effect in July 2019.’
