    Resthaven staff are prepared

The Resthaven staff team is adapting to the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic whilst undertaking the essential services provided to older individuals every day. We are very proud of their outstanding commitment.

Resthaven has a COVID-19 management group, which meets regularly, to monitor the current situation and review our plan.

Our staff are committed to continuing to provide ongoing aged care support as an essential service. All staff are required to confirm their fitness for work each day, which includes confirming that they have no cold or flu-like symptoms, or have had no contact with people who do.

All staff are required to complete a mandatory COVID-19 training module via our Learning Management System. Critical elements of this training are linked to good infection control management practices, which is an ongoing focus.

Our sector is experienced in adhering to strict infection control and hygiene practices. Personal care staff are supported by a strong clinical management team with great experience and depth of knowledge.

Staff remain ever-vigilant in their infection control practices, including hand washing and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), when required, and follow government guidelines.

All Resthaven staff are being provided with a free influenza vaccination, with site-based clinics held across Resthaven throughout April 2020.

The safety and wellbeing of the older people whom Resthaven supports is our utmost priority. Staff are doing everything in their power to ensure that our community stays safe, and well, during this challenging time.
