    Resthaven supporting Parkinson’s in the Park

    Resthaven is proud to be the major sponsor of the Parkinson’s SA event, ‘Parkinson’s in the Park’, on Sunday 8 April 2018.

    This family-friendly event will be held 10am–3pm at the Soldiers Memorial Gardens, Unley Road, Unley, will feature aged care and Parkinson’s information, historical tours of Unley, a family dog show, pie judging, and fete stalls, activities, demonstrations, and lots more.

    Parkinson’s SA and Resthaven will also have information stalls, where staff will be available to answer your questions about the services available.

    ‘Resthaven has a long tradition of working with other organisations who support older people and their carers, and this instance is no exception,’ says Resthaven CEO, Richard Hearn.

    Parkinson’s SA provides excellent support and education services for people with Parkinson’s or other movement disorders, and we use this to inform our own services to support Resthaven residents and clients.’

    Resthaven supports people living with Parkinson’s, and has worked together with Parkinson’s SA over several decades. A number of group programs, self-management groups and individual therapies are available at Resthaven’s Wellness Centres.

    Now in its seventh year, the organisation’s official Ambassador, Amelia Mulcahy, from Channel 7, will open the event, with Parkinson’s SA CEO, Olivia Nassaris, Mayor of Unley, Peter Hughes, and Resthaven giving opening speeches.

    Resthaven residential aged care homes are located at Bellevue Heights, Craigmore, Leabrook, Malvern, Marion, Mitcham, Murray Bridge, Mount Gambier, Paradise, Port Elliot and Westbourne Park. A new Resthaven at Aberfoyle Park is currently under construction.

    Resthaven works together with older people and their carers who live at home, throughout metropolitan Adelaide, the Adelaide Hills, Murraylands, Fleurieu, Barossa, Riverland and Limestone Coast of South Australia.
