    Retirement Living Residents Celebrate Christmas

With Christmas festivities in full swing across Resthaven, Independent Retirement Living residents at Marion and Bellevue Heights recently enjoyed their own Christmas celebrations with Resthaven staff.

Residents held lovely morning and afternoon teas in the company of Sue McKechnie (Executive Manager, Community Services), Jeannie Peace (Retirement Living Coordinator), Lynn Openshaw (Manager, Service Development), and Lesley Habel (Project Officer, Service Development).

‘We were delighted to spend this time with Retirement Living residents, who are valued members of the Resthaven community’, Sue says.

‘It gave us an opportunity to explain the range of high-quality home support services available to Retirement Living residents in their own units, to support them to remain living independently as they age.’

‘We Marion Retirement Living residents Christmas 2016were able to explain that we offer both government-subsidised home care services and private services in each person’s home, delivered by our well trained staff.’

‘Resthaven Lifestyle Choice Plus is an option for those people who don’t want to wait or go through an assessment process, but would benefit from a little extra support with day to day chores. This is a “fee for service” program, to help retain independence with choice and control.’

‘We work together with each individual to develop a plan that suits their own specific situation.’

Jeannie Peace adds, ‘Retirement Living at Resthaven is great.’

‘Residents have access to many activities on offer across the Resthaven community and residential sites. These include everything from Zumba to Christmas Carols!’

‘As all of Resthaven’s retirement living options are co-located with a residential aged care service, the peace of mind knowing that on-going care is available on site is an added value.’

‘The Christmas events were such a success that future celebrations are planned for residents at Resthaven Leabrook, Paradise, Malvern and Port Elliot in early 2017.’

‘They were an opportunity for us to wish everyone peace, joy and health this Christmas.’

    ‘Warm season’s greetings to all!’
