Riverland Community Services Winter Ball
What do you do when the winter weather forces you indoors? Hold a Winter Ball, of course!
That’s exactly what Resthaven Riverland Community Services did on 12 August, with Manager, Sandy Smith, saying, ‘It was so much fun!’
‘Around 30 clients, staff and partners gathered in the Renmark Hotel Galaxy Room, where we enjoyed an unbelievable buffet of food.’
‘Clients feasted on roast lamb and pork, beef stroganoff, rice, roast potatoes, potato bake, mixed vegetables, and two salads.’
‘For dessert, we were served pavlova with mixed fruit, ice cream, and pear and peach crumble.’
‘The Riverland Rock ‘n’ Roll Dancers entertained us with a dance demonstration, then invited clients to get up and dance, too!’
‘The evening was full of very happy faces, and lots of smiles and laughter.’
‘There was even a reconnection between two guests, who used to be neighbours and hadn’t seen each other in years, and were by chance seated at the same table.’
‘They spent the evening reminiscing, and have since rekindled an old friendship.’
‘Another guest danced the night away – he was out on the dance floor, having a blast. He gave every lady he could talk into dancing a twirl on the floor.’
‘He is a very social man and this event really brought that side of him out.’
‘It was the perfect way to cure those “winter blues,” and we can’t wait for the next one.’
