    Shrove Tuesday is Pancake Day

Today on 5 March, thousands of people across the country are flipping and eating pancakes to help raise funds for UnitingCare.

Resthaven is associated with the Uniting Church, so funds raised at Resthaven events go towards lifestyle and leisure programs.

Many sites are hosting events, including Resthaven Malvern, where Penny Pancake, Rebecca Morse, and the team from Channel 10 News are there to help.

    Why pancakes?

Historically, the day before Ash Wednesday was the last day to eat all the flour, eggs and dairy products in your kitchen before the start of Lent, which is a time of abstinence and reflection in the 40 days before Easter. This is Shrove Tuesday.
