    ‘Thank You’ from a client

A Resthaven Marion Retirement Independent resident recently contacted Resthaven Marion Community Services to thank them for the extra support they have provided to her throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

The client wrote, ‘I was wondering how I would be able to get food and essential supplies.’

‘Then, someone at Resthaven Marion Community Services suggested that a [Resthaven] Home Support Worker could do it through the Commonwealth Home Support Program.’

‘Since Friday, my fridge is brimming with food. Very efficiently done!’

She is also delighted that she can still have an individual coaching session and physiotherapy at the wellness centre.

‘I’ve been three times, and it’s a great help to my body,’ she says. ‘It’s good getting out.’

‘I am still continuing my [therapeutic] massage with Fiona once a fortnight, and I look forward to it.’

‘Tania, the podiatrist, is still seeing clients.’

‘The staff are very friendly, from a distance of course!’

The client couldn’t be happier in her Resthaven Retirement Living Unit, writing, ‘As I sit here looking out on to my colourful garden, with the sun streaming in, I can hear the birds singing in the huge gum trees to the south.’

‘I am lucky to live here.’

Resthaven Community Services are operating in a COVID-safe manner and some services are postponed or have a limit to the number of people who can attend at once while the social gathering restrictions are in place. We advise all people to follow the government advice and have a flu vaccination and stay at home if you are unwell or have symptoms of respiratory illness.

The Resthaven Marion ‘campus’ is the largest of all Resthaven sites. It includes an independent retirement living village, community services, respite cottages and a residential aged care home.

Resthaven supports older people across South Australia with the full range of aged care services.
