Luncheon in the name of love at Resthaven Malvern

On Friday 12 February, the Valentines of Resthaven Malvern got together in the name of love to enjoy a delicious three-course meal and a glass of wine, provided by the kitchen staff.

Over lunch, the couples sat down and shared a few of their secrets to a long and happy relationship!

Long-term partners, Caryl Brown and Darryl Allen, have been together for 17 years, saying ‘a kiss and a cuddle every day is more important than you think’, and ‘NEVER go to bed without resolving a fight!’.

‘My favourite thing about Darryl is that he is wonderful and reliable’, Ms Brown says.

Mr Allen says, ‘Caryl has always made me feel needed and wanted in her life, which has helped me see my value.’

Mrs Deirdre and Mr Donald Mackay have been married for around 61 years, saying the secret to a successful marriage is to ‘have much tolerance and patience for one another’.

Mrs Mackay says, ‘Mutual respect goes a long way’.

‘My wife has always supported me throughout our marriage, she has the gentlest soul’, says Mr Mackay.

More happy couples were heard praising communication, trust and understanding for their longevity.
