With a Little Help - booklet for carers - Edition 3 out now

‘I am pleased to announce that we have just reprinted our very handy little booklet, ‘With a little help’ with tips for carers,’ says Sue McKechnie, Resthaven Executive Manager Community Services.

with-a-little-help-3rd-edition-cover‘This booklet was initially developed as a collaborative writing project in 2010 by members of Resthaven’s Carers Community Advisory Group, and this is the third edition.’

‘This simple little handbook was written due to a gap in resources available for carers. It  can help family, friends and the community at large gain an understanding of what it was like to live as a carer, and how they can help.’

‘Being a carer for a family member or friend is a demanding role, and can be lonely. Few people understand what life as a full-time carer is like.’

‘This easy-to-read, simple booklet is based on the wealth of knowledge and experience of real carers who have lived the experience.’

‘This simple and engagingly illustrated resource helps people to understand the carer’s role, how they feel and how a family member or friend can support a carer.’
