Specialised Services available at Resthaven
Are you looking for care that is dementia-specific?
We care about the lives of those living with dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, and other related disorders.
Resthaven provides palliative care and support for residents and clients with a chronic illness or condition.
Palliative care is not just about end of life. When treatment focus is changed from ‘cure’ to ‘care’ it can greatly improve quality of life.
Our philosophy aims to maintain or improve quality of life through the prevention and relief of suffering.
Pastoral Care, Chaplaincy, and Spiritual Support
Resthaven employs a team of Coordinating Chaplains who work with residents, their family and friends, to meet pastoral care needs.
Appointments with health care professionals can be made through residential care homes and community services offices.
These may include:
- occupational therapists
- speech pathologists
- continence nurse advisors
- social workers
Continence issues can affect anyone at any age.
Resthaven employs Continence Nurse Advisors and Registered Nurses who are trained to work with people who have incontinence.
They engage with residents and clients requiring their assistance to manage continence care issues to increase social engagement, and enhance quality of life.
