History
In the early years of South Australia’s settlement, services for the elderly were very limited. Resthaven was established by the Methodist Church in 1935, during the Great Depression, when many frail elderly people relied on Christian charity to survive.

Resthaven is a richly diverse South Australian community founded on the principles of inclusion and unity, embracing and respecting each person’s beliefs, culture, language, background, lifestyle, life experiences and values.
