Resthaven and SA Government partnership supports future aged care workforce

A partnership project between Resthaven and the South Australian Government will support 30 current Home Support Workers to undertake a traineeship, combining a Certificate III in Individual Support with on-the-job training.

Resthaven Manager Workforce Development, Tom Cleghorn, says, ‘The Resthaven Aged Care Traineeship Project aims to support a skilled future aged care workforce.’

‘Home Support Workers play a vital role in supporting people to remain living at home, and leading an independent lifestyle.’

‘This project will allow more people to gain the appropriate skills and qualifications.’

‘This is a huge opportunity for committed individuals to join the aged care workforce.’

‘We encourage all Resthaven direct care staff to take advantage of this opportunity to gain a Certificate III in Individual Support.’

The State Government will provide more than $124,000 towards the project, including support and supervision for participants during client visits.
