Resthaven staff and volunteers shine at the inaugural Resthaven Excellence Awards

Resthaven’s commitment to delivering high-quality residential and community aged care services was on show last Friday, 1 March when the inaugural Resthaven Excellence Awards took place.

Held at the new Wolf Blass Centre, Morphettville, the awards recognise and reward the contribution of Resthaven volunteers and employees who live the Resthaven values – trust, dignity and choice.

‘We received an overwhelming number of nominations with more than 1,100 submissions made by staff, volunteers, customers and their representatives,’ Resthaven CEO, Darren Birbeck, says.

‘It was truly inspiring to read the personal stories and gratitude for the positive impact that our people have on shaping culture and the customer experience. I say well done to everyone who was nominated!’

Over half of the nominations for the awards were received from Resthaven residents and clients.

‘It shows that our residents and clients truly value the service we bring them,’ Darren says.

Darren says it was a difficult process to select the finalists for each category, and then an even harder decision to select the winners.

‘All our people are worthy of being acknowledged and recognised for their commitment and contributions,’ Darren says.

‘It is an honour to celebrate our people and recognise the valuable contribution of so many people from across various services and areas. We congratulate the winners of each category and celebrate their achievements.’

The event was attended by finalists and their guests as well as clients, residents and family members who nominated staff in the awards. Members of the Resthaven Board, Executive Management and management representatives also attended.
