    Resthaven Murray Bridge, Hills and Fleurieu Community Services offers centre-based small group day respite and one-on-one in-home respite for carers in a supportive, relaxed and secure environment.

    Overview

    Resthaven’s Murray Bridge, Hills and Fleurieu Community Services caters for those who care for older people.

    Flexible respite options include in-home, individual or group day respite to clients and are offered in all locations serviced by Resthaven Murray Bridge, Hills and Fleurieu Community Services.

    Some services are also offered at the Murray Bridge Wellness Centre.

    Programs

    In-home Respite

    Flexible days and times:
    • In-home respite.
    • Respite is provided in the home of the person being cared for. The type of support and activities offered will depend on individual requests, interests and needs.
    • Flexible times and days are available to meet the needs of the carer.

    Day Respite

    In-home or centre-based:
    • Day respite is available for carers who live in Murray Bridge, the Adelaide Hills and Fleurieu and surrounding areas.
    • Respite may be delivered in another person’s home.
    • Nutritious, home cooked meals are prepared on site. Individual preferences are considered.
    • An interactive social program is provided, which focuses on the abilities and interests of the person being cared for.

    Group Respite

    Centre-based group day respite in a relaxed, supportive, enjoyable and secure environment is offered.

    Please note: transport can be arranged.

    • Wellness on Wednesdays (WOW) 
      As well as providing respite for carers, clients enjoy good company and indulge in a gentle exercise program, relaxation, and pampering, and experience guest presenters and outings. Groups are held every Wednesday. Morning session: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
      Afternoon session: 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm.
    • Armchair Adventurers
      In addition to offering respite for carers, in this Men’s Group, clients experience a program of mentally stimulating activities including ‘armchair cruising’ and ‘exploring local history’. Every Friday, 2:00 pm – 3:30 pm.

    Eligibility

    A My Aged Care referral number is required to access community respite services.

     

    Respite is available for carers who live in Murray Bridge, the Adelaide Hills and Fleurieu and surrounding areas, and care for frail older people who have low level care needs, including those with short term memory loss.
