    Resthaven Onkaparinga Community Services offers in-home care and support, respite for carers and social support for older people living in the southern foothills and outer southern suburbs.

    How to apply for Home Support and Wellness services

    Resthaven offers a wide range of flexible services so that you are able to live independently at home.

    Trained Resthaven staff are based at our Community Services office in Noarlunga, where they coordinate home support services, delivered in your home or at the site.

    You may choose to receive support with household tasks, home maintenance, shopping, social activities, keeping healthy, personal care, and nursing care.

    Contact us on 1300 13 66 33 and we’ll facilitate your referral through My Aged Care or contact My Aged Care directly on 1800 200 422.

    Social, Wellness and Fitness groups available:

    Social

    • A Few Good Men: Tease your mind with cards, bingo, pool table and games to tease the mind and get you moving. Music to reminisce to and many more things to enjoy.
    • All Aboard the Op Shop Bus: Enjoy a day of searching for treasures new and old. Includes visits to various Op Shops and a lunch stop along the way.
    • Bingo: Join us for an afternoon of fun, food and prizes. Prizes galore and fun for all! Entry includes light lunch, drinks and all Bingo games. Lucky door prize.
    • Caring for Carers Respite: Respite care is available for Carers living in the Onkaparinga area. Your loved one will enjoy a mystery day out visiting local places of interest, lunch at a local hotel included. You don’t need to be a paid Carer to be eligible.
    • Creative Connections: Come and enjoy a fun morning of activities and try your hand at different Arts n Crafts. Morning tea is included.

     

    • Destination Lunch: Enjoy a lovely drive to a wonderful lunch location. Meet new people or catch up with old friends, while being assisted by our friendly and welcoming bunch of support workers.
    • Historians & Fact Finders: Do you enjoy history and exploring the mysteries of the world? If so, come and join us for an afternoon of knowledge and adventure.
    • Knit & Natter: Bring your knitting, crochet or cross stitching. Share ideas, patterns and join others for a cup of tea and natter.
    • Lunch & Chat: Come along and make new friends or catch up with old friends over a nice meal and a chat. Men and women welcome.
    • Mystery Tour Bus: Meet at the Onkaparinga Activity Room and then hop on a bus and enjoy a day out exploring mystery locations with a stop for lunch.

    Fitness

    • Easy Moves Monday: Low level seated exercises with a therapist to maintain joint range of motion and strength. Optional coffee and chat after exercise.
    • Easy Moves Thursday: Low level seated exercises with a therapist to maintain joint range of motion and strength.
    • Fitness & Balance: Moderate seated and standing exercise group focusing on improving strength and balance. Group run by therapist.
    • Fitness & Balance (Thursday): Circuit exercise group focusing on improving fitness, strength and balance. Group run by therapist.
