    Resthaven Western Community Services offer in-home support services, exercise and social groups for older people in the western suburbs. Carer respite is provided, one to one in the person’s home, and through small groups.

    How to apply for Home Support and Wellness services

    Resthaven Western Community Services offers a wide range of flexible services so that you are able to live independently at home.

    Trained Resthaven staff are based at our Community Services office in Woodville, where they coordinate home support services, delivered in your home or at the site.

    You may choose to receive support with household tasks, home maintenance, shopping, social activities, keeping healthy, personal care, and nursing care.

    We offer:

    • Morning and afternoon social groups including memory support activities and refreshments
    • Morning and afternoon exercise groups (chair-based)
    • Allied Health groups: various classes including falls and balance, general mobility and education sessions.
    • ‘Ramblers’ bus outings: social group outings to places of interest.
    • Respite for carers: in a supportive, relaxed, and secure home style environment. Full day or half day respite is available, including a light lunch, morning and afternoon tea. Small group numbers. Transport can be arranged if required.

    Social

    • Morning brew conversations: Come for the coffee, stay for the chat! A relaxed morning of good cuppas, friendly faces, lively conversations, and a sprinkle of current affairs (opinions welcome!).
    • Weekly Bus Trip: Hop on, sit back, and enjoy the ride! A chance to get out and about, explore the community, and enjoy a change of scenery.
    • Bingo: Eyes down, smiles up! A classic favourite filled with laughter, friendly competition, the thrill of yelling “BINGO!”— and topped off with an amazing lunch to enjoy together. Because winning is great, but good food makes it even better!
    • Cork & Fork: Good food, good drinks, and even better company. A relaxed social outing where taste buds are treated and conversations flow freely.
    • Creative Corner: Get creative at Creative Corner! Dive into crafts, knitting, painting, drawing, crosswords, and more. No experience is needed—just bring your curiosity, your enthusiasm, and a love for having fun.
    • Men on the Move: A social group just for the gents. Good company, light activity, a bit of banter, and plenty of laughs — because moving is better with mates.

    • Health Moves Exercise: Gentle movement with great benefits! Keep your body moving, your joints happy, and your energy up.
    • Easy Moves: Movement at your own pace. A calm and comfortable session focused on flexibility, circulation, and feeling good — easy really does it!
    • Strength & Balance class: We move, we stretch, we wobble (safely!). A fun, friendly and supportive class designed to help you stay strong, steady, and confident on your feet.
    • Hot Hand Therapy: Dip your hands into warm, melty goodness and feel instantly fancy. Smooth hands, relaxed vibes, zero effort required.
    • Caring for Carers: This group offers meaningful social engagement and activities for clients in a supportive setting, while giving carers a planned break, knowing their loved one is enjoying a positive and well-supervised experience.
    • Making Minds Matter: Exercise for the brain! Enjoy puzzles, games, discussions, and activities designed to keep your mind sharp and your smile even sharper.
