Walls go up: Building begins at Resthaven Marion campus

The Resthaven Marion Community Wellness Centre is taking shape, with the foundation and concrete slab completed, and the walls going up.

The centre is part of the $100m Resthaven Marion site redevelopment and is due for completion in October 2026. The new centre will provide a range of wellness, social and therapeutic services to older people living in the local community and demonstrates Resthaven’s investment in the sector.

    Residential care home plans

One of the first parts of the redevelopment will be the demolition of two original areas of the existing home, built in 1978. As a result, new admissions to Resthaven Marion are now closed, and residents currently living in these areas are being relocated to other parts of the home where possible. A staged approach for this relocation aims to minimise disruption for residents. On-site meetings have been held with residents and family members to keep everyone up to date with these movements.

Once completed, the development will provide contemporary, comfortable, and homelike accommodation, along with improved shared spaces and service areas. Stage two is due for completion in late 2028.

Resthaven acknowledges that relocations can be unsettling and is committed to supporting residents and their representatives throughout this process. Management is providing clear communication and practical assistance at every stage.
